<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical recording medium capable of reducing the thickness and economizing and reducing the manufacturing cost per unit by composing an information recording layer of three layers of the recording layer and eliminating a reflective layer and the upper and lower dielectric layers or any one thereof. <P>SOLUTION: The optical recording layer includes a substrate and the information recording layer located on the upper side of the substrate and records information by a mechanism wherein a new material having different reflectivity from other materials around within the information recording layer, is formed when a laser beam irradiates thereon. The information recording layer includes a first recording layer containing at least one element selected from the group consisting of Ag, In, Ge, Sb and Te, a second recording layer containing at least one element selected from the group consisting of Si, Sn, Sb and Ge and a third recording layer consisting at least one element selected from the group consisting of Ni, Ag, Au, W, Cr and Mo. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
