摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display device with which both of black luminance and white luminance can be optimized. SOLUTION: CS drivers and/or gate drivers are respectively disposed on both end sides of capacitor wiring 106-1 to 106-m and/or gate lines 105-1 and 105-m and have a vertical driving circuit 102 for selectively driving the gate lines and the capacitor wiring and a generation circuit 104 for generating a common voltage signal of small amplitude. Each pixel circuit includes a liquid crystal cell LC 201 having a first pixel electrode and a second pixel electrode and a holding capacitor CS 201 having a first electrode and a second electrode. The first pixel electrode of the liquid crystal cell, the first electrode of the holding capacitor and one terminal of a TFT are connected. The second electrode of the holding capacitor is connected to the capacitor wiring arrayed in the corresponding row. A common voltage signal is applied to the second pixel electrode of the liquid crystal cell.
