PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lighting device which lights at a uniform brightness by lowering fluctuation of temperature distribution in the device and elimiates uneven brightness on a plate face. SOLUTION: Of the lighting device with discharge gas sealed inside a glass tube, phosphor coated on an inner surface of the glass tube, with a plurality of dielectric-barrier discharge lamps arrayed in parallel with current conductive layers arranged on an outer surface of the glass tube as outer electrodes 2, and lit by an inverter 4, lamp loads of the plurality of dielectric-barrier discharge lamps 1 are made different from each other.
