PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information storage medium capable of easily manage files including a video file, even if files to be managed are increased. SOLUTION: Since skipping alternation is performed for defect in a video file (AV file), data to be recorded in a defective block is recorded in a normal block in skipping alternation processing, when the skipping alternation processing is performed, information of the block is written in a secondary defect list (SDL) on an information storage medium, and addresses of the defective block and the alternation block are managed by the physical sector number in the secondary defect list (SDL).
