Disclosed is a hydrogen amount sensor capable of directly measuring the amount of hydrogen left in a hydrogen storage device by a simple process. Specifically disclosed is a hydrogen amount sensor comprising a sensing electrode (30) which is arranged within a hydrogen storage container (10) and composed of a hydrogen storage alloy, a reference electrode (28) arranged opposite to the sensing electrode, and an electrolyte body (26) arranged between the sensing electrode and the reference electrode. A sensor unit (32) for measuring the hydrogen concentration in the hydrogen storage alloy as the electromotive force value is constituted by the sensing electrode (30), the reference electrode (28) and the electrolyte body (26).
