PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an incision tool for a holding seal material capable of easily cutting a projecting part generated when press-fitting the holding seal material in a tubular shell after being wound on an exhaust gas processing body, and a method for manufacturing the holding seal material by using the same. SOLUTION: This holding seal material of the exhaust gas processing body is constituted of a storing main body 12 having a storing part 12a constituted of side wall 12b and bottom surface 12c in contact with each of side surface and bottom surface of the holding seal material, and a lid body 13 arranged on an upper part of the storing main body 12. In the lid body 13, a first slit 13c passing through an upper bottom surface is provided. By inserting and moving a plany blade in the first slit 13c, an incision surface is formed at a side end part of the holding seal material stored in the storing part 12a. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
