#CMT# #/CMT# Rubber mixtures comprise rubber and a nitrilotrialkoxysilane derivative (I). #CMT# : #/CMT# Rubber mixtures comprise rubber and an nitrilotrialkoxysilane derivative of formula (I): (Q) kG-Si(O-CX 1>X 2>-CX 1>X 3>) 3N (I) Q : halo, SCN or SH; k : 1-5; G : a linear, cyclic or branched, (un)substituted, (un)saturated, di- to pentavalent 1-24C hydrocarbon group; and X 1>-X 3>H, 1-16C alkyl or aryl. #CMT#USE : #/CMT# The rubber mixtures are useful for making shaped products, especially pneumatic tires, tire treads, rubber-containing tire components, cable sheathing, hoses, drive belts, conveyor belts, roll covers, shoe soles, sealing rings and damping elements (all claimed). #CMT#ADVANTAGE : #/CMT# The mixtures have a lower viscosity and better vulcanization properties than mixtures containing conventional mercaptoalkyl trialkoxysilanes. #CMT#POLYMERS : #/CMT# The rubber is preferably a diene rubber. #CMT#EXAMPLE : #/CMT# Rubber mixture for vulcanization comprised (parts per hundred parts rubber): Polymer VSL 5025 styrene-butadiene rubber (96), Buna CB 24 cis-1,4-polybutadiene (30), Ultrasil 7000 GR (80), 3-(nitrilotriethoxysilyl)propyl mercaptan (2.51), zinc oxide (3), stearic acid (2), Naftolen ZD (10), Vulkanox 4020 (1.5) and Protektor G 3108 (1). |
