PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processing system and authentication method suitable for authenticating a user using biological information. SOLUTION: The image forming system for authenticating the user includes one or more operation detection means for detecting operation of the user, one or more biological information acquiring means for acquiring the biological information of the user when the operation detection means detects operation, and an authentication determining means for conducting authentication determination of the user on the basis of the biological information acquired by the biological information acquiring means.
