PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic head slider testing apparatus in which a current output circuit of a DC magnetic field and a high frequency magnetic field can be shared, a magnetic field leaked to the periphery from a core is suppressed, and which can be miniaturized. SOLUTION: A coil generating a DC magnetic field for a magnetic head is provided on a frame shape core dividing the coil into a first coil and a second coil. And distance of a gap is shortened and a head slider is held on a table having a top end portion of thin thickness, while advancing and retreating the table in the direction perpendicular to the core, the head slider is inserted into the gap from the lateral direction. Thereby, the distance of the gap is reduced to about half of the conventional one, and reduction of inductance of the first coil and the second coil is realized. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
