PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a test piece having a large number of corners to be used for the measurement of the performance of metal detectors, its adjustment, etc. and to provide its manufacturing method. SOLUTION: The test piece 1 is made into a cube shape. The test piece 1 is fixed to a test piece case 2 made of a nonmetallic substance. A metallic material is machined into the cube shape of the test piece 1, and stress is applied to each side of the test piece 1, or the test piece 1 is subjected to quenching treatment. Accordingly, iron fragments which are fractured due to the application of physical stress and thermal stress can be inferred or that the stainless-steel fragments in which martensitic transformation has occurred etc can be inferred.
