PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a secondary battery which can exactly respond to reduction in size, weight, and thickness. SOLUTION: The secondary battery 1 which is used for an electronic device by being put in the electronic device and supplying electric power to the device comprises a battery cell 3 in which a positive electrode, a negative electrode and electrolyte are packed in a package 23, and a positive terminal 21 and a negative terminal 22 are led out of the same side 3a of the package 23 from the positive electrode and negative electrode, respectively, a battery can 2 in which an opening 5 where the battery cell 3 is inserted is formed and the cell 3 is installed so that the side 3a where the positive terminal 21 and the negative terminal 22 are led out is directed to the opening 5, and a lid 4 which is made of synthetic resin for closing the opening 5 of the battery can 2 and equipped with a positive terminal part 37 and a negative terminal part 38 which are connected with the positive terminal 21 and the negative terminal 22, respectively, and directed outward to be connected with terminals of the electronic device.
