PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging device which is capable of providing excellent animations and still pictures preventing the reflected light of a light emitting means from affecting the recorded animations and the still pictures that are photoed while the animations are recorded. SOLUTION: The imaging device is equipped with an imaging element which converts an optical image into electrical signals and outputs image data, an animation recording means for generating the animations from the image data and recording them, a still picture photographing means capable of photographing the still pictures from the image data while the animations are recorded, and a light emission control means for stopping a light emitting means from emitting light (S206, S207) when it is determined that a preparatory operation for recording the still pictures is started by the still picture photographing means (S202, S205).
