PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a color reversible image display medium capable of monochrome or polychrome display including black-and-white display, and free of disappearance of a displayed image upon irradiation with light in the visible range. SOLUTION: The reversible image display medium contains at least a photochromic compound which colors upon irradiation with light and decolors upon heating. It is preferable that the reversible image display medium comprises a layer containing the photochromic compound, contains two or more photochromic compounds which color upon irradiation with light of≤400 nm and decolor upon heating at≥40°C or at≥60°C, or contains one or more photochromic compounds having absorption in the coloring state at a wavelength of 400-800 nm. The photochromic compounds are preferably microencapsulated. A protective layer is preferably formed on one side or both sides of the reversible image display medium. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
