PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a linear actuator manufactured at a low cost with simple constitution, improvable in durability without degrading accuracy in moving a table and moreover lowered in height. SOLUTION: The linear actuator 20 comprises a cylinder tube 22 having a through hole 44 and partitioning an opening 36 by cutting out a side face part; a rail member 26 juxtaposed along the axial direction of the cylinder tube 22; a slide table 28 reciprocated along the rail member 26; and a joint member 34 reciprocating the slide table 28 through the opening 36.
