PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a drain plug drive unit which is electrically and manually operable, and has a simple structure. SOLUTION: The drain plug drive unit 1 has an electric motor 2 provided with a rotating shaft 21; a rod portion 5 formed like a rod shape, for axially reciprocating to drive a drain valve body; a motion transmission mechanism 3 for converting rotating motion transmitted from the rotating shaft 21 into a reciprocating motion of the rod portion 5; a reduction gear 4 having a plurality of sets of coaxially arranged planetary gears 41 to 43; and a manual operation section 6 for reciprocating the rod portion 5 via manual operation. In the reduction gear 4, each ring gear 403 is inhibited from relatively rotating with respect to the rotating motor 2. The manual operating section 6 is configured such that the reduction gear 4 and the rotating motor 2 can be rotated together in one body by rotating each ring gear 403. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
