A method for decreasing biomass of plant is provided to obtain the size-decreased plant by contacting a chemical material with the plant. The method for decreasing biomass of plant comprises a step of contacting a compound represented by the formula(2) or a salt thereof with a plant. In the formula(2), each R1, R2, R3, R4 and R5 is independently H, linear or branched alkyl, linear or branched alkenyl, linear or branched alkynyl, cycloalkyl, cycloalkenyl, aryl, alkaryl or aralkyl. In the method, the contacting step is performed either by spraying the compound of the formula(2) into the plant or by spraying the compound of the formula(2) into soil where the plant is growing. |
