PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a line image sensor for establishing compatibility between the improvement of the color reproducibility of an image reading apparatus and reduction in color shift. SOLUTION: The line image sensor, including a photodiode group configured with four kinds or more of photodiode arrays and color filters, with different color separation characteristics and each mounted on each photodiode, is provided with a means that composes electric charges produced by two or more of the photodiodes located at the end of the photodiode group.
