PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a temporary restraining device capable of surely and easily restraining an preconstructed base isolation device in the horizontal direction till completing construction of base isolation forming work. SOLUTION: This temporary restraining device is used for the base isolation device installed between separated columns, and is composed of cross-sectional L-shaped support members 20 and 30 arranged in the vertical direction in a state of allowing the inside to abut on the corner between an upper side baseplate 6 and a lower side baseplate 2 in the base isolation device and bar members 40 and 50 arranged, fastened and fixed so as to cross between the adjacent support members by passing through a pair of upper-lower installation holes arranged on respective surfaces of the support members. The cross-sectional L-shaped support members can be easily and surely installed in the corners of four places by a procedure of performing operation for fastening the respective bar members 40 and 50 after installing the bar members 40 and 50 in a diagonal line shape so as to cross by applying the support members in the vertical direction.
