PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a flame-retardant polycarbonate resin composition exhibiting flame retardancy and moldability (fluidity) without impairing mechanical strength and heat resistance which polycarbonate resin has originally and without containing a halogen or phosphorus. SOLUTION: The flame-retardant polycarbonate resin composition is obtained by compounding (A) 100 pts.wt. polycarbonate resin with (B) 0.01-5 pts.wt. hydrophobic fumed silica, (C) 0.01-2 pts.wt. organometallic salt compound, (D) 0.05-2 pts.wt. fiber-forming type fluorine-containing polymer, (E) 0.01-0.6 pt.wt. organic acid and (F) 0.4-1.3 pts.wt. amide compound. The molded article is obtained by molding the resin composition. Since the flame-retardant polycarbonate resin composition does not use a conventional flame retardant containing a halogen or phosphorus, the resin composition is free from fear of gas generation resulting from flame retardant in combustion and extremely excellent also in safety and environmental aspects. Further, since the resin composition is extremely excellent in mechanical properties, etc., the resin composition is suitably usable as a material for various kinds of flame-retardant industrial components.
