PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To promote the dissolution of a detergent put into a detergent supply opening provided on the inside periphery of a washing spin-drying tub and quickly supply the detergent to the washing spin-drying tub even if the level of stored water in the washing spin-drying tub is low. SOLUTION: The washing machine has a detergent supply duct 60 having the detergent supply opening 63 at the upper part and provided with a water through hole 66 opened into the washing spin-drying tub 21 arranged at the lower part, separately from a circulating water channel 41 having a lint filter 43. Opening the detergent supply opening cover 64, supplying the detergent and closing the cover 64 make the detergent drop through the detergent supply duct 60, get out from a lower end opening 62 and drop below a pulsator 23. After that, water is supplied to the washing spin-drying tub 21 and the pulsator 23 is driven and turned. When detergent water and water accompanied by an undissolved detergent are moved upward in the detergent supply duct 60 by the pump action of rear blades of the pulsator 23, is strongly discharged from the water through hole 66 located near to the lower end opening 62, and supplied into the washing spin-drying tub 21.
