The mechanism (1) has a discharge line (4) for pumping a medium from a container. A check valve (2) is attached to the discharge line and/or an intake line in such a manner that the valve closes the discharge and/or intake lines in a leak-proof manner and temporarily releases the lines based on delivery pressure. A supply or extraction line (3) is attached to the discharge and/or intake lines that are closed with a flange in a reciprocal connection, and the valve terminally closes a pump sided flange (6) and a line sided flange (5).
