A method for adaptively controlling an amplifying gain of a mobile terminal and a mobile terminal therefor are provided to allow clear voice call communication by removing an ambient noise signal introduced through a microphone by stages and transmitting voice signals. A memory(110) stores a threshold value for discriminating a voice signal and a noise signal and different amplifying gains. A voice processing unit(140) discriminates a voice signal or a noise signal by comparing a signal inputted for voice processing with the threshold value and performs amplifying with the different amplifying gains stored in the memory(110). A controller(120) controls a speaker(150) and the voice processing unit(140) so that the voice signal processed by the voice processing unit(140) can be outputted through the speaker(150) in an external speaker mode.
