<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus capable of efficiently transmitting the heat generated in an image forming unit, discharging the heat generated in the image forming unit to the outside, and forming the image with high quality. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus includes a photoreceptor drum 3 which is removably provided in a casing 2, and constitutes the image forming unit for forming an image on transfer paper, an exposure device 4, a charging roller 5, a developing apparatus 6, a transfer device 7, a cleaning device 8 and a fixing device 9, a cooling device 41 which is provided in the casing 2, and a heat exchange member 44 which performs heat exchange between the image forming unit and the cooling device 41.
