PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a nonmagnetic single-component toner which maintains, such high developing performance as to ensure less fog and to provide sufficient image density over a prolonged period of time, even in high-speed development under a severe environment of high temperature and high humidity, or at low temperature and low humidity, and even in long-term use, and which will not contaminate the inside of a machine due to toner flying-off and can give a uniform high-quality image free of fading or negative sleeve ghost. SOLUTION: The nonmagnetic single-component toner is applied to an image forming method, including at least a toner layer forming step of regulating a toner layer on a toner carrier, by bringing a toner regulating member into contact with a surface of the toner carrier; and a developing step of forming a toner image on an electrostatic latent image carrier by developing an electrostatic latent image, by bringing the toner layer carried on the surface of the toner carrier into contact with a surface of the electrostatic latent image carrier. The nonmagnetic single-component toner contains at least a binder resin and a colorant, wherein the binder resin contains at least a vinyl resin having a bond formed by the reaction of a carboxyl group, with a glycidyl group as a partial structure.
