PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow the adjustment of preload and the control of inclinations of inner and outer wheel on a shaft end side. SOLUTION: A rigid ball 9 of a thrust ball bearing is sandwiched circumferentially by a pair of inner ring elements 2a, 2b in the inner ring elements 2a, 2b. When the inner ring element 2a on the shaft end side is pressed onto a barrel 14 side, an inclined part of the inner ring element 2a on the shaft end side is abutted to the rigid ball 9 to act force for restoring the inclination on a required part and to bring the inner ring element 2a on the shaft end side into a parallel state to the inner ring element 2b on the barrel 14 side. As a result, the inclinations of the inner ring element 2a and outer ring element 11a on the shaft end side can be controlled. When tightening a nut 16 and moving the inner ring element 2a on the shaft end side to the barrel 14 side, the rigid ball 9 is compressed by the inner ring element 2a on the shaft end side and the inner ring element 2b on the barrel 14 side so as to be elastically transformed. By so doing, the distance between the inner ring element 2a on the shaft end side and the inner ring element 2b on the barrel 14 side can be narrowed, which allows the adjustment of the preload of a rolling bearing 1.
