PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a toothed belt with improved durability. SOLUTION: The toothed belt 10 has a belt body 11 formed of an elastomer. The belt body 11 has a toothed rubber layer 12, to which a tooth part 20 is formed, and a rear rubber layer 22 provided to the rear face side of the belt. The surface of the toothed rubber layer 12 is covered with a tooth cloth 19. The tooth cloth 19 is woven with yarn extended in the longitudinal direction of the belt and yarn extended in the width direction. The yarn extended in the width direction includes polyarylate fiber yarn. The tooth cloth 19 is subjected to heat treatment after depositing a compound including rubber or latex on it before bonding it to the toothed rubber layer 12. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
