PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress hunting of a throttle valve in a high-torque region. SOLUTION: A control device for an engine (ECU) executes a program including a step (S800) for calculating a present demand throttle opening and a step (S1000) for setting a demand throttle opening to the maximum value (an opening in which the throttle valve is fully opened) by adding to a previous demand throttle opening an updating quantity limit value calculated on the basis of a variation in a demand torque T(D) when a ratio (T(D)/T(WOT)) between a demand torque T(D) to an engine calculated on the basis of engine rotation speed and accelerator opening and a full-open time output torque T(WOT) of an engine in case of fully opening a throttle valve is a predetermined value or more (when in a high-torque region, Yes in S400).
