PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a television broadcast receiver capable of automatically displaying an initial setting screen at a preferable timing. SOLUTION: The television broadcast receiver 10 is provided with a determination program 17c1 used for causing a CPU 16 to determine whether a time exceeds an upper limit time after interruption of power source of the television broad cast receiver 10, until subsequent turning-on of the power source when the television broadcast receiver 10 is powered on, on the basis of time information stored in a time information storage region 17b1 immediately before interrupting the power source of the television broadcast receiver 10, and a time information added to a television broadcast signal received by a tuner 11 immediately after the television broadcast receiver 10 is powered on; and a display control program 17c2 used for causing the CPU 16 to control an image display unit 151 via an image decoder 15, so that the display unit 151 displays the initial setting screen if it is determined that the time exceeds the upper limit time.
