PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To ensure that an encoder scale, of an inkjet printer, used for detecting the position of a printing head can be easily attached and prevented from deviating in the width direction of the encoder scale, even in case the encoder scale is of such a construction that its one end is secured to a printer main body by a tensile coil spring. SOLUTION: First, the encoder scale 7 is previously secured to a spring hook 12 by the tensile coil spring 10, and a securing hook 9 is made to penetrate a first part 13a while the encoder scale 7 is dragged in the main scan direction where the tensile coil spring 10 is stretched, in order to secure the securing hook 9 into a securing hole 13. A head part 9b can easily penetrate the first part 13a, as the latter is formed larger than the former. An overhanging part 15 prevents the encoder scale 7 from deviating in its width direction, since the former comes into contact with the side of the securing part 9a. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
