PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink-jet recording device capable of performing excellent recording while preventing image quality from being degraded even when a scanning speed of a print head is in acceleration/deceleration regions. SOLUTION: The ink-jet recording device records while discharging ink onto a recording medium from the print head. The device is provided with a means for measuring a distance between the print head and the recording medium for each scanning, a position signal output means for outputting a signal for each prescribed distance of relative movement regarding the relative movement between the print head and the recording medium, and a timing control means that controls discharge timing for executing a plurality of number of times of discharge for each section determined by one cycle of the signal outputted by the position signal output means, determines a plurality of number of times of the discharge timing on the basis of a predicted cycle by predicting the cycle of a current section on the basis of the cycle of the last section and that of the section preceding the last section, and also, determines a delay time until the first discharge in the section on the basis of the predicted cycle of the current section.
