PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an immersion coating apparatus for achieving an extremely small vibration of a liquid surface of a coating or a film itself even in a roll running system, realizing an inexpensive thin film coating due to a simple inexpensive installation structure compared with that of a die system or a gravure system, and more suitable for coating a multilayer structure having several tens of layers or more. SOLUTION: The immersion coating apparatus comprises a conveying mechanism for conveying a continuous film 12, a coating tank 15 for filling optical film coating 11 therein, and an immersion roll 14 immersed and rotated in the coating 11 in the coating tank 15, wherein the film 12 is immersed in the coating 11 in the coating tank 15 while winding the film 12 on an outer periphery of the immersion roll 14, and pulled out from a liquid surface of the coating 11, and thereby the coating 11 is deposited on the film 12 to form a coating film, and the liquid surface of the coating 11 in the coating tank 15 is on a circular arc of the outer periphery of the immersion roll 14 on which the film 12 is wound.
