<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a molding method for obtaining a two-piece can having sufficient can body strength and superior corrosion resistance, which enables the easy manufacturing of the two-piece can without causing a crack on the can. <P>SOLUTION: The two-piece can is made of a law material of a laminated steel plate, and has a closed-end cylindrical can trunk. The opening side of the can trunk is machined to have a reduced diameter smaller than the diameter of the can trunk, and the can trunk satisfies the inequalities (1) and (2) described below. A bead is formed on the opening side of the can trunk. The bead is formed by curling the front end of the opening toward the outside of the can to give a bead an arcuate section, and has another bead that is formed at the tip of the original bead to have an arcuate curled section in the arcuate section of the original bead. The inequality (1) is 1.5≤h/(R-r), and inequality (2) is d/R≤0.25, where h is a height from the can bottom to the opening tip, R is a circular blank position radius, r is a bottom radius, and d is the radius of the opening tip. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
