<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a motion assisting bed which can support the own strength motion, and can promote the own strength motion to a person who is not bet-ridden and can act by his or her own strength, or a person who should be trained for the own strength motion. <P>SOLUTION: When a bed user grips a gripping section 3 of an operation rod 1, a back lifting switch 8 is depressed and turns on, and a back bottom 114 stands up. In this case, the bed user may support his or her own body while gripping the gripping section 3 of the operation rod 1. After the back bottom 114 has stood up, and the upper half body of the bed user has been raised, the bed user moves his or her own body to the end seat position of the bed by using the operation rod 1 as a support. When the bed user lies down on the bed, the bed user sits on the end seat position on the bed, moves his or her body to a specified position on the bed by using the operation rod 1 as a support, and depresses a back lowering switch 9 on the distal end of the gripping section 3 of the operation rod 1.
