<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To store materials according to a correct rule even when the rule for storing the materials is changed or the materials tend to be stored against the rule. <P>SOLUTION: The inventory control system comprises a plurality of electronic inventory tags 10, a communication device 20, and a managing device 40. The electronic inventory tags 10 each include a storage part and a communication part. The storage part stores item information. The communication part communicates with the communication device 20. The communication device 20 includes a plurality of communication parts, a determination part and a calculation part, and an output part. The communication parts communicate with the electronic inventory tags 10. The determination part and the calculation part specify the positions of the electronic inventory tags 10. The output part communicates with the managing device 40. The managing device 40 includes an input part, a storage part, a processing part, and a display part. The input part communicates with the communication device 20. The storage part stores the rule in coordination with the item information. The processing part determines whether the positions of the electronic inventory tags agree with the rule or not.
