PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recording device that can record data on a recording medium, and a program therefor. SOLUTION: When video imaging and recording is started (S3), a free space B of a memory card is determined (S5), and it is determined whether or not the determined free space B is not larger than a threshold A (S6). If it is determined that the free space B is not larger than the threshold A, a free space C of a flash memory is determined (S8) and a data volume D of recorded data files in the memory card is determined (S10). If it is determined that the free space C is not smaller than the data volume D of recorded data files, the recorded data files are moved from the memory card to the flash memory (S13). If it is determined that the free space C is smaller than the data volume of recorded data files, data files equivalent to the space C are moved to the flash memory (S14).
