PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that the front end of paper sheet is fed into a carrying belt in the state of being curled in the direction of floating from the carrying belt and carried in the state of being in no close contact with the carrying belt to cause the degradation of image quality due to friction against a head and unstable suction. SOLUTION: A paper sheet feed motor 49 is driven to feed the paper sheet 5. After a printing portion inlet sensor 202 detects (on) the paper sheet 5, the paper feed motor 49 is driven off to stop the fed of the paper 5. After a predetermined standby time C required for putting the paper 5 being in a reversely curled state into a positively curled state, the paper feed motor 49 is driven on to start the feed of the paper 5, and a sub scanning motor 131 is driven on to start the carriage of the paper sheet 5 sucked by the carrying belt 31 to a recording region with the recording head 24.
