PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recorder in which the footprint of its body is made to be a size approximately equal to an area of a recording sheet storage section and a united cartridge containing the recording sheet and an ink sheet can be loaded to the recorder without increasing the footprint of the body. SOLUTION: This recorder is constituted such that the cartridge 10 having the recording sheet storage section 2 can be detachably loaded to the recorder. The recorder is equipped with a sheet rotating means for rotating a recording sheet 5 around a shaft provided in parallel to a normal direction of the recording face when feeding the recording sheet 5 to an image forming section 20 from the cartridge 10. The longitudinal direction of the stored recording sheet is roughly perpendicular to the longitudinal direction of the recording sheet at a time when the recording is performed thereon on the image forming section 20.
