PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an edge aligning device of a cutter with high practicality capable of not only exactly aligning an edge of a booklet by rotating, advancing and retreating an edge pressing member by rotating a single rotary shaft but also securing a stable, reliable and strong action of the edge pressing member. SOLUTION: The rotary shaft 3 for rotating the edge pressing member 1 is born by a sliding slide bearing stand 2, and the edge pressing member 1 can be advanced and retreated in the longitudinal direction toward the edge of the booklet together with the rotary shaft 3 by sliding of the slide bearing stand 2. A crank 9 fixed to the rotary shaft 3 to rotate together with the edge pressing member 1 is provided with a cam follower 10 sliding along a cam groove 12 of the cam member 11. The rotary shaft 3 is rotated to rotate the crank 9, the cam follower slides along the cam groove 12 to move the rotary shaft 3 forward and backward together with the slide bearing stand 2, thereby advancing and retreating the edge pressing member 1.
