PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a plant protection structure capable of protecting plants so as not to obstruct growth of plants such as lawn even if people walk or cars run. SOLUTION: This plant protection structure is made by laying on a sand layer 2 in the ground a plant protection step board 1 which has support parts (cylindrical stand parts 1b) to support load from an upper side, and space between the support parts as implantation space of plants, filling mixed added fertile soil 3 which is obtained by mixing an elastic compaction loosening agent 3a with soil 3b, in the implantation space between the support parts of the plant protection step board 1 and implanting plants 4 such as grass. The mixed added fertile soil 3 is almost free from being compacted with the action of the compaction loosening agent 3a even if the step pressure of pedestrians or the wheel pressure of cars acts or car vibration acts, and air and water circulate through the inside void of the mixed added fertile soil 3, so it is possible to substantially solve a fear of obstructing the growth of the plants 4 by insufficiency of oxygen and poor drainage.
