<p>A piping portion knitted by total needles is provided at the end of a tubular fabric consisting of front and rear fabrics. In the method for forming a piping portion by total needles at the end of a tubular fabric using a weft knitting machine equipped with a composite needle consisting of a needle body and a slider, when the piping portion is formed at one needle bed, an idle needle is provided by holding part of a stitch locking at the other needle bed on to an adjacent needle on the same needle bed, an increase is formed in the idle needle, a piping portion is formed by total needles at one needle bed, the piping portion is connected by transferring a stitch increased in the other needle bed to one opposing needle bed, and after welt seam processing is performed, a piping portion is also formed at the other needle bed by total needles.</p> |
