ON-VEHICLE PANORAMA CAMERA SYSTEM

摘要

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an on-vehicle panorama camera system from which a panorama image with comparatively small distortion can be obtained even when the image is a wide field image wherein an actual direction can easily be recognized.

SOLUTION: The on-vehicle panorama camera system includes: a plurality of cameras arranged in a way that projection centers of which are shared with each other and parts of imaging areas of which adjacent to each other are overlapped, and the whole imaging range of which is within a prescribed horizontal angular range with respect to a cross direction of a vehicle front or back; a means that converts an imaged image of each camera to a cylindrical face projected image by using a cylindrical face whose center axis is a perpendicular axis passing through the projection center as the projection face; a means that joins the cylindrical face projected images obtained as above to generate a cylindrical face panorama image; and a means that converts the cylindrical face panorama image into an elliptic cylindrical face projected image by using an elliptic cylindrical face whose center axis is the perpendicular axis passing through the projection center and whose minor axis direction is coincident with the cross direction of the vehicle as the projection face.
