PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an elastic boundary wave element having a large electrical/mechanical coupling coefficient. SOLUTION: An elastic boundary wave element 10 comprises a first piezoelectric substrate 12 made from niobic acid potassium silicide, and a second piezoelectric substrate 14 made from niobic acid potassium silicide. A cut angle for niobic acid potassium silicide is (0°±30°, 0°to±180°, 0°±20°) by Euler angle indication. The first piezoelectric substrate 12 and the second piezoelectric substrate 14 are coupled mutually. An IDT (interdigital transducer) 16 is prepared at a center section in a coupled surface of the first piezoelectric substrate 12. The IDT 16 is composed of a pair of interdigital electrodes 18 (18a and 18b) and formed in the shape of a bamboo blind by electrode fingers 20 (20a and 20b) of the interdigital electrodes 18.
