PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To continuously collect data even during program updating. SOLUTION: This data collecting device 1 starts a newly installed new collection program 1c on the basis of a basic program 1a while running the current collection program 1b that currently operates. In addition, the data collecting device 1 shifts collection information of a current collection information table 1d to which the current collection program 1b refers to collect data from electronic equipment 2a, 2b to 2n on the basis of the basic program 1a to a new collection information table 1e to which the new collection program 1c refers to collect data from the electronic equipment 2a, 2b to 2n.
