PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lightweight pneumatic tire with miniaturized bead apex rubber which is capable of enhancing the steering stability without impairing the ride quality, and ensuring the high durability. SOLUTION: In a bead apex rubber 8 extending radially outward from a bead core 5, the height h1 in the radial direction from the bead core 5 at an outer end is set to be≤10 mm. A side wall rubber 11 consists of an outer rubber layer 11o forming an outer face of a side wall part 3 and an inner rubber layer 11i located on the inner side in the tire axial direction of the outer rubber layer 11o. In the inner rubber layer 11i, the complex modulus of elasticity E*<SB>1a</SB>in the tire circumferential direction is set to be in a range of 7-15 Mpa, and≥1.5 times the complex modulus of elasticity E*<SB>1b</SB>in the tire radial direction.
