PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of repairing a metal surface wetted by radioactive fluid without generating high temperature stress in base metal. SOLUTION: A wet surface of a reactor pressure vessel 2, the inside of it, or a welded section 22 is repaired by removing radioactive fluid in contact with it, forming powder mixture of metal particles and ceramic particles, cold-spraying the powder mixture to the wet surface, and forming coatings 40 and 44 on the surface. The coating during deposition having smoothness of 125 RMS or more can be non-destructively inspected with ultrasonic wave, eddy current, or visible dye penetrant testing without preliminary polishing process.
