摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a brake force adjusting mechanism of an endoscope curving device providing a smooth and stable brake operation without deforming a member that abuts on a friction member of a curving member even if brake force is changed. SOLUTION: This brake force adjusting mechanism of the endoscope curing device is provided with: a locking member coaxial with the curving member and being independently rotationally operated; a rectilinear movement member interlocked with normal/inverse rotational operations of the locking member and rectilinearly reciprocating in the direction along the rotational axis; a male screw cylinder fixed to the rectilinear movement member and having a male screw coaxial with the locking member; a friction annulus having a female cylinder threadedly engaged with the male screw cylinder and having a female screw, and a friction flange approaching to/separating from the friction member of the curving member; a circumferential slit formed by cutting off a part of the male screw on the male screw of the male screw cylinder; and a retaining member relatively approaching/separating a first and a second deformation part formed in the both sides of the slit by the slit and changing the width of the slit.
