PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To retain, even if the back face of a washing and drying machine is installed close to a wall face of the installation place, high drying performance by sufficiently securing the intake of outside air through a suction port of a hot air supply unit provided in the back face. SOLUTION: The back face center of a back-part decorative cover 11 to be attached on an upper face plate 4 of an outer box 1 is defined as a central flat portion 11a projecting backward, and is formed with slope portions 11b in its both sides; and air suction filters 66 for taking the outside air into a hot air supply unit, which is used in a drying operation, are provided on the slope portions 11b. Even if the back face of the washing and drying machine is installed close to the erecting wall face of a lavatory or the like, this constitution can secure a large interval between the air suction filters 66 and the erecting wall face in the sides so as to suck a sufficient amount of air when operating a fan of the hot air supply unit.
