PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inverter device for lighting discharge tube of low cost and space saving, capable of detecting output current of a piezoelectric transformer, and detecting a discharge with high accuracy. SOLUTION: Both ends of a secondary winding wire 6 for output of wound transformer 4 are connected to a primary side electrode 2 for input of the piezoelectric transformer, and the current output from the piezoelectric transformer is detected at both terminal voltages of a sensing resistor 11 by connecting the sensing resistor 11 between the output secondary coil 6 of the wound transformer 4 and a GND.
