PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a residual-amount change during ink-decreasing to be continuously measured while enabling an ink end to be accurately detected. SOLUTION: A liquid storage container is equipped with an ink bag 13, a buffer chamber 14 which is located in the middle of a delivery passage for sending out the ink held in the ink bag and whose volume is enlarged by the inflow of the ink from the ink bag while contracting when the ink inflow from the ink bag stops, the first detection means 30 for detecting the volume change of the ink bag and the second detection means 25 for detecting the volume change of the buffer chamber 14.
