PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bi-metal coin corresponding type coin sensor for surely identifying a bi-metal coin from an edge coin or the like. SOLUTION: In a coin sensor 20, an oscillation side coil 22 and a reception side coil 23 are faced to each other with a coin path 21 interposed, and the oscillation side coil 22 is oscillated with a high frequency and a low frequency, and the quality of the materials of a coin and whether or not the coin is a bi-metal coin are detected based on the change of the high frequency components and low frequency components of the output signal of the reception side coil 23 when a coin C passes through the coin path 21, and the thickness of the coin is detected based on the change of an oscillation frequency at the high frequency side and the change of the oscillation frequency at the low frequency side when the coin passes through the coin path 21.
